1 dead, 22 wounded in shooting at Union Station after Chiefs parade

In the aftermath of the Chiefs parade and rally at Union Station on Wednesday afternoon, police reported one fatality and 22 individuals sustaining gunshot injuries.

Children’s Mercy Hospital confirmed treating 12 patients, predominantly children, with nine of them having gunshot wounds.

Truman Medical Center at the University Health disclosed that eight gunshot victims were receiving treatment, including two in critical condition.

Additionally, four individuals were attended to for injuries unrelated to gunshots, KCTV5 reported.

The Kansas City Police Department revealed the apprehension of three armed individuals for further investigation.

Authorities are in the process of establishing a hotline to gather tips specifically related to the shooting.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas expressed his sorrow over the situation in a released statement.
