Lebanese security sources report that at least seven civilians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, following Hezbollah rocket attacks that resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier.
In Souaneh, a woman and two children were killed, and in Nabatieh, at least four members of a family lost their lives.
Additionally, Hezbollah confirmed the death of at least two of its fighters in the southern Lebanon attacks.
Israel’s military stated that it targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in response to the lethal rocket attack on northern Israel, BBC reported.
Since the onset of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip in October, Hezbollah fighters have engaged in frequent exchanges of fire with Israeli forces along the border, raising concerns about the escalation into a broader regional conflict.
