Putin claims he prefers Biden over Trump

On Wednesday, Russian leader Vladimir Putin expressed a preference for President Biden to win the 2024 election over former President Trump.

These public remarks mark Putin’s first commentary on the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election and come in the wake of Russian interference in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

During an interview broadcast on Russia-1 TV and subsequently posted online, host Pavel Zarubin asked Putin about the choice between Biden and Trump, inquiring about who would be “better for us.”

This information has been translated into English by Reuters and other sources, Axios reported.

“[Biden] is a more experienced, predictable person. He is a politician of the old school,” Putin said. “But we will work with any leader of the United States, who is trusted by the American people.”

These remarks follow President Biden’s Tuesday accusation against Trump, claiming that the former president exhibited subservience to Putin in light of recent comments regarding NATO.
