Joe Manchin will not run for president

On Friday, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia declared that he will not be launching a presidential campaign for the 2024 election.

“I will not be seeking a third-party run. I will not be involved in a presidential run,” the retiring Democratic senator said in a speech at West Virginia University in Morgantown, CNN reported.

Conducting a nationwide listening tour, Senator Joe Manchin contemplated entering the 2024 presidential race as a third-party candidate, possibly on the No Labels ticket.

Despite critiquing President Joe Biden for perceived liberalism, Manchin expressed his commitment to avoiding involvement in any initiative that could contribute to Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

Although Manchin had initially set a deadline for a decision in the spring, he has decided to forego a presidential run.

Instead, he will direct his attention towards a new initiative, Americans Together, which advocates for moderate political perspectives.
