A mail carrier in Ohio was fatally shot in what authorities are deeming a “targeted attack” while inside his U.S. Postal Service van on Saturday.
The Warren Police Department in Warren, Ohio, responded to the incident around 1:44 p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd.
Upon arrival, officers discovered 33-year-old USPS employee Jonte Davis with a gunshot wound, having been shot while inside his USPS van by a suspect in another vehicle.
Despite the officers’ efforts to administer life-saving measures, Davis was transported to Trumbull Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, USA Today reported.
According to the Warren PD, the suspect’s vehicle was located in a driveway within a few hours of the incident, leading to the issuance of a search warrant for the vehicle and residence.
