Unitree, a Chinese technology company based in Hangzhou, has introduced the world’s fastest humanoid robot.
Established in 2016, Unitree Robotics specializes in humanoid robots, with their latest creation, the H1, being the most advanced to date.
Standing at approximately 1.80 meters (5 foot 11) and weighing 47 kilograms, the H1 is equipped with a depth camera and a 3D LiDAR, enabling it to identify objects and obstacles in its surroundings and distinguish between inanimate objects and living beings such as people, animals, or plants.
Notably, the H1 holds the title of the world’s fastest humanoid robot, achieving a speed of 3.3 meters per second, surpassing the previous record of 2.5 meters per second, Supercar Blondie reported.
This translates to roughly 5.5 km/h. In addition to its impressive speed, the H1 exhibits versatile capabilities, including the ability to function as a ‘Marathon’ runner, jump, transport objects, and navigate stairs.
The Unitree H1 is available for purchase at a price of $150,000. Despite stiff competition in the robotics field, even from companies like Tesla with its ‘Optimus’ robot, Unitree’s creation stands out for its exceptional speed and diverse functionalities.
While other robots, including those from Tesla and Boston Dynamics, focus on simpler tasks like folding clothes or cooking, the Unitree H1 demonstrates a unique blend of speed and agility.
In the rapidly advancing field of robotics, where various companies unveil innovative creations, the common thread among them is a certain eerie quality.
