Four in custody as more body parts discovered scattered on Long Island

After the discovery of severed body parts belonging to a man and a woman on Long Island last week, four individuals are now in custody as authorities continue to uncover additional remains, according to sources reported by The Post.

The arrests occurred on Tuesday following a police raid on a residence on Railroad Avenue in Amityville late Monday evening, as revealed by sources and neighbors.

Although no human remains were found at the residence, investigators uncovered more dismembered limbs concealed in Bethpage State Park and a wooded area in West Babylon, situated miles away, as stated in a Tuesday statement by the Suffolk County Police Department.

Officials suspect that these newly-discovered remains are connected to the same individuals whose body parts were initially found on February 29 in Southards Pond Park in Babylon, according to the release, the New York Post reported.

While the victims’ identities have not been publicly disclosed, the police release indicated that the assortment of limbs belonged to a 59-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man, both residing at the same address in the city of Yonkers in Westchester County.

The police statement did not mention a possible motive for the killings.

However, sources informed NBC New York that authorities are exploring the possibility of a connection between the murders and a potential love triangle.
