Man falls to his death from a hot-air balloon in Australia

On Monday, tragedy struck as a man tragically plummeted to his death from a hot-air balloon while it traversed suburban Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city.

The balloon had departed from Melbourne’s northern suburbs early in the morning and had been airborne for approximately 30 minutes before the unfortunate incident occurred.

The discovery of the man’s body in a residential area prompted Victoria state police to cordon off the area to traffic.

Remarkably, the balloon safely landed several miles away from the location where the man’s body was found, NBC News reported.

Authorities have stated their intention to compile a report for the coroner, assuring that the death is not considered suspicious.

They are currently in discussions with the balloon’s pilot, other occupants, and witnesses to gather information.

Both the National Commercial Hot-Air Ballooning Industry and the Australian Ballooning Federation have offered their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased individual.
