Doctors warn of mysterious cancer ‘epidemic’

Prominent medical professionals have raised alarms about a perplexing surge in abdominal cancers among younger individuals, likening it to a new “epidemic.”

In the wake of the Princess of Wales’s disclosure of her diagnosis last Friday, experts in specialized fields have observed a notable uptick in cases of cancers typically associated with older age groups among those under 45.

Many of these patients exhibit physical fitness and outward vitality, prompting a concerted effort among researchers to pinpoint the underlying causes of this concerning trend.

A study examining data from Northern Ireland spanning from 1993 to 2019 revealed a staggering 20.5% increase in early-onset cancers, translating to approximately 7,000 additional cases annually across the UK.

Among these cancers are those falling under the category of “abdominal” malignancies, the Telegraph reported.

Although the Princess has not disclosed the specific type of cancer she is undergoing treatment for, her statement on Friday indicated that it was discovered subsequent to abdominal surgery conducted in January.
