Russia, controlling the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station in southern Ukraine, alleges that Kyiv attacked a dome above one of the plant’s reactors.

However, Ukraine denies involvement, and the weapon used in the assault remains unclear. Radiation levels were unaffected, but three people were reportedly injured.

The International Atomic Energy Agency confirms a drone detonation, urging both sides to prioritize nuclear safety, Al-Jazeera has reported.

The plant, with six reactors, sits near the front lines, heightening fears of a potential nuclear catastrophe amid accusations traded between Ukraine and Russia.
