Baby found dead on Los Angeles highway linked to family’s murder-suicide, police say

The discovery of a deceased baby on a Los Angeles highway has been linked to a potential murder-suicide, as revealed by police to ABC News.

The incident unfolded early Monday when the body of a 6-month-old girl was found on the 405 Freeway, accompanied by a 9-year-old girl found injured on the shoulder.

Subsequently, the children’s mother crashed her car into a tree in Redondo Beach and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later, the father’s body was found stabbed to death in a Woodland Hills apartment. Law enforcement suspects the tragic event stemmed from domestic violence, with the mother likely killing the father during an argument, leaving the children on the highway, and then crashing her car.

Details remain unclear regarding the circumstances of the children’s placement on the highway and the timing of the baby’s death.

The identities of the family members have not been disclosed publicly, ABC News has reported.

The 9-year-old girl, believed to be a witness to the incident, is receiving medical care and is under protective custody.

Witnesses reported hearing an argument and observing blood in the vicinity of the family’s apartment prior to the discovery of the bodies.
