A tragic incident occurred at a boat club in Michigan when a suspected drunken driver crashed into a birthday party, resulting in the deaths of two young siblings and injuring over a dozen people.

The Monroe County Police Department responded to the scene where a 66-year-old woman crashed into the building where the party was taking place.

The 5-year-old brother and 8-year-old sister, who were attending the party, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fifteen others, including adults and children, sustained injuries, with some in critical condition, USA Today has reported.

The driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death and is currently in custody. Further charges may be filed as the investigation unfolds.
