During a military rehearsal for a Royal Malaysian Navy parade in Lumut, Malaysia, two navy helicopters collided mid-air, resulting in the death of all ten individuals on board.
Footage from local media shows one helicopter clipping the rotor of the other before both crashed to the ground.
The victims were confirmed dead on site, and their remains were sent to the Lumut Military Hospital for identification.
The Royal Malaysian Navy announced the formation of a committee to investigate the cause of the collision.
One helicopter crashed onto a running track, while the other plunged into a nearby swimming pool, the BBC has reported.
The state’s fire and rescue department was alerted to the incident at 09:50 local time.
This tragedy follows a recent incident in March when a Malaysian coast guard helicopter crashed into the sea, with its occupants being rescued by fishermen.
