A 1-year-old Washington toddler was found safe in Oregon after his father, a former police officer, allegedly kidnapped him following the fatal shooting of his ex-wife and the discovery of a deceased teenage girl in his home.

The father, Elias Huizar, took his own life during a police chase, leaving behind a trail of violence and tragedy.

The motive behind the killings remains unclear, but it appears that Huizar had a troubled relationship with the teenage girl, who was identified as his girlfriend by authorities.

Huizar had a history of domestic violence and was arrested in February for sexual assault, the Huff Post reported.

The community is shocked and saddened by the tragic events, and authorities are investigating the case further.
