When pressed about his previous comments and vote to acquit Trump during his impeachment, McConnell reiterated his stance but deferred to the court’s forthcoming decision, The Hill reported.

Justices expressed skepticism about extending presidential immunity to actions like attempted coups but signaled a willingness to provide some level of protection from criminal prosecution.

This pivotal case may lead to new legal disputes and potentially delay Trump’s ongoing legal battles.

A decision is anticipated by the end of June, although special counsel Jack Smith has urged for a quicker resolution.
