Ukraine has introduced an AI-generated spokeswoman named Victoria, who will deliver official statements on behalf of its foreign ministry.

Despite being digitally created, the statements will be written and verified by humans. Victoria Shi, dressed in a suit, was unveiled in a social media presentation, gesturing and speaking with lifelike movements.

While her appearance and voice are based on a real person, Rosalie Nombre, she is purely digital and separate from Nombre.

The initiative aims to save time and resources for diplomats, with the AI generating only the visual aspect of the spokeswoman.

Created by a team called The Game Changers, Victoria’s name is derived from “victory” and the Ukrainian term for artificial intelligence, Barron’s reported.

She will provide commentary on consular services, including recent controversial decisions by Ukraine regarding men of fighting age living abroad.

To ensure authenticity, official statements will be accompanied by QR codes linking to text versions on the ministry’s website.
