Bodies of murdered Australian, US surfers identified in Mexico

Three surfers, two Australians and an American, were found dead in Mexico, their bodies showing signs of execution-style shootings.

Callum and Jake Robinson, Australian brothers, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad were identified by relatives after a suspected robbery turned fatal. Authorities discovered their bodies near their burned pickup truck.

Three suspects are in custody, with one having a history of violence and crime.

The tragic incident sparked mourning across nations, with the lacrosse community and Australian Treasurer expressing condolences, AFP has reported.

This event highlights the violence in Baja California, where the surfers were found, despite its popularity among tourists.

The surfers’ disappearance had prompted concerns, reminiscent of similar incidents in Mexico’s past.
