Trump Demands Jack Smith Be Arrested After Document Revelation

Donald Trump has taken to Truth Social to demand the arrest of Special Counsel Jack Smith following revelations that some evidence in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case has been altered.

Trump alleges “blatant evidence tampering” and calls for the case to be dismissed, labeling it an “Election Interference Scam.”

Federal prosecutors, responding to a request for trial delay from one of Trump’s co-defendants, Walt Nauta, acknowledged discrepancies in the sequence of materials retrieved from Mar-a-Lago, citing factors such as the size and shape of items in the boxes.

Smith’s team refutes claims of inaccuracy in provided indexes and asserts that the location of classified materials within the boxes does not impact the case, Newsweek reported.

Trump, Nauta, and Mar-a-Lago maintenance worker Carlos De Oliveira have pleaded not guilty to charges related to retaining and obstructing the retrieval of classified materials.

The trial date is expected to be postponed beyond its scheduled start date of May 20.
