The Georgia Court of Appeals has agreed to review a decision made by a Fulton County Superior Court judge regarding District Attorney Fani Willis and her office’s involvement in the 2020 election case against former President Donald Trump.
This decision follows Judge Scott McAfee’s ruling, which allowed Willis to continue leading the prosecution despite her personal relationship with a prosecutor, Nathan Wade.
While Wade was required to withdraw from the case due to this relationship, Trump’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, announced on social media that the Court of Appeals has granted Trump’s appeal of McAfee’s decision.
The timeline for arguments in the appeal is currently uncertain. Sadow stated that Trump anticipates presenting arguments to dismiss the case and disqualify Willis for alleged misconduct, CBS News reported.
The district attorney’s office declined to comment on the matter.
