Actor Steve Buscemi was seen with visible injuries, including a black eye and bruising on his chin, during his first public appearance since being assaulted in a random attack in Kips Bay the previous week.
Despite the incident, he was spotted shooting a commercial in Soho, where he was photographed chatting with crew members.
Buscemi’s publicist confirmed the assault, expressing gratitude for the well wishes and sadness regarding the incident.
A native New Yorker known for his roles in acclaimed films and television series like “Boardwalk Empire,” Buscemi previously served as a firefighter in the city, the New York Post has reported.
The attacker, still unidentified, remains at large, and police have released surveillance images in hopes of apprehending them.
This assault follows a similar incident involving another “Boardwalk Empire” actor, Michael Stuhbarg, who was attacked while jogging on the Upper East Side.
