The FBI and Department of Homeland Security recently issued a warning about potential threats from foreign terrorist organizations targeting LGBTQ+ events during Pride Month, held annually in June.
The warning stems from concerns about the heightened risk of anti-LGBTQ+ violence and extremism.
Specifically, the agencies mentioned groups like ISIS exploiting Pride events to incite or carry out violence.
This advisory comes as the eighth anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting approaches, an attack that was praised by ISIS sympathizers, the Daily Express has reported.
The agencies highlighted indicators of potential attacks and urged vigilance, advising individuals to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
