Germany says it will arrest Netanyahu

Israel’s Ambassador to Berlin, Ron Prosor, was rebuffed by the German government after appealing on social media for Germany to reject the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) legitimacy.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s spokesman, Steffen Hebestreit, confirmed that Germany would comply with an ICC arrest warrant against Prime Minister Netanyahu for alleged war crimes.

Prosor criticized this stance on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that it challenges Germany’s commitment to Israel’s security, as declared by former Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2008, Jerusalem Post reported.

Prosor condemned the ICC’s Chief Prosecutor for equating Israel with Hamas and urged Germany to correct what he called a moral misjudgment, warning that the ICC’s actions threaten Western values and institutions.
