Netanyahu accepts ‘tragic mistake’ after dozens killed in Gaza city

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has admitted to a “tragic mistake” following an airstrike that killed dozens in Rafah, Gaza.

Addressing parliament, he confirmed an investigation into the incident, which resulted in significant civilian casualties, including children, in a refugee camp.

Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s efforts to avoid civilian harm and stated that the strike aimed at a Hamas installation, targeting senior militants.

The attack, one of the deadliest in the ongoing conflict, has drawn intense international criticism, with allies like the US and France condemning the violence, the Daily Mirror has reported.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported over 36,000 Palestinian deaths, half being women, children, and the elderly.

Additionally, Egypt reported the death of a soldier in a related exchange of fire, with both nations investigating.
