Trump’s hush money trial entering final stretch

After over four weeks and nearly two dozen witnesses, the hush money trial of former U.S. President Donald Trump is nearing its conclusion.

Closing arguments from prosecutors and Trump’s defense team will begin Tuesday morning in a New York courtroom marked by heated exchanges and notable moments since late April.

The jury will then deliberate to reach a verdict, just months before the anticipated closely contested November election between Trump, a Republican, and his Democratic rival, President Joe Biden, Al-Jazeera has reported.

Trump, who faces 34 felony counts for falsifying business documents related to hush money payments to an adult film star before the 2016 election, has pleaded not guilty.
