A United Airlines flight from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport aborted takeoff after an engine caught fire, halting arrivals temporarily during Memorial Day travel.
United Flight 2091, an Airbus A320 with 148 passengers and five crew members, experienced the emergency around 2 p.m.
The situation was resolved safely, and the plane was towed back to the gate where passengers deplaned without injury, Fox News reported.
United Airlines is arranging alternative travel for affected customers. This incident coincided with a ground stop at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
