Top executives from leading artificial intelligence companies, including Google DeepMind, Microsoft AI, Anthropic, and Mistral AI, are gathering in Madrid for a secretive meeting alongside prominent business and political leaders.
The annual Bilderberg Meeting, known for its exclusivity and private discussions, will once again focus on AI, following its significant impact on global agendas.
Attendees include CEOs from Citigroup, Pfizer, and Shell, as well as notable figures such as former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and investor Peter Thiel.
Political figures like the U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary and the NATO Secretary General will also participate, addressing geopolitical concerns such as those involving China and Russia, CNBC reported.
With approximately 130 participants, including former and current prime ministers, the event maintains its tradition of confidentiality, adhering to Chatham House rules.
While organizers emphasize the informal nature of discussions, the secrecy surrounding the meeting has prompted conspiracy theories about its influence on societal matters, akin to other high-profile gatherings like the World Economic Forum in Davos.
