Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is currently facing trial in Delaware over three felony charges connected to his attempt to obtain a firearm in 2018 while allegedly struggling with drug addiction.
Despite pleading not guilty after being indicted by special counsel David Weiss last October, Hunter Biden maintains his innocence.
This trial marks the first time the child of a sitting president has been tried in a criminal court.
The proceedings have attracted attention, especially following former President Donald Trump’s recent felony conviction related to a 2016 hush money payment.
During a sidebar discussion, Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, hinted at the possibility of calling Naomi Biden, the president’s eldest granddaughter, as a witness if necessary, ABC News reported.
This revelation came to light in a transcript of the proceedings released after court adjourned, shedding light on the tense exchanges between Lowell, the judge, and government prosecutors.
