Ukraine hints it used Western weapons to strike inside Russia after Biden’s green light

Following approval from the United States and other allies for Ukraine to use Western weapons, a senior Ukrainian official suggested that Kyiv may have struck a missile system inside Russia using these arms.

This development comes after Ukraine faced pressure to disregard Kremlin threats and lift restrictions hindering its defense efforts.

Despite warnings from Russian officials, Ukraine hinted at potentially launching its first attacks under this new permission, sparking speculation about the implications for the broader conflict.

A now-deleted post by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk on Telegram showed a photo of a burning military truck, purportedly a Russian S-300 system hit on Russian soil, NBC News reported.

Vereshchuk did not provide specific details regarding the location or timing of the alleged strike, nor did she confirm if U.S.-supplied weapons were used.

Verification of the photo’s content as an S-300 system was not possible. Requests for comment from Ukraine’s defense ministry went unanswered.
