President Joe Biden attended a star-studded fundraiser in Los Angeles, joining former President Barack Obama and celebrities like Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
The event, which included surrogates such as Barbra Streisand, raised over $30 million for Biden’s campaign.
Biden joked about traveling “nine time zones” to be there, having flown from the G7 summit in Italy where he left early to attend.
During a moderated conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Biden addressed Supreme Court decisions, urging voters to elect him to potentially shape the court with two new nominees.
Obama emphasized Biden’s alignment with core American values, urging voters to consider their shared beliefs, ABC News has reported.
Unlike a previous fundraiser in New York, which focused on grassroots donors, parts of the LA event were livestreamed for small-dollar contributors.
The campaign pledged to use every dollar from the fundraiser to support field operations, organizers, and media campaigns.
