Church officials investigating Virgin Mary statue crying tears of blood

A statue of the Virgin Mary, known as Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Morelia, Mexico, has reportedly shed tears of blood, sparking a chaotic situation.

The statue, owned by a family in the town of Obrera, began showing signs of crying blood on June 2.

While some believe this could be a divine message, church officials are urging caution and have launched an investigation, the Daily Star has reported.

The Archdiocese of Morelia has issued a statement saying that they will conduct a thorough investigation before making any conclusions, and have asked worshippers to exercise discretion and use this moment to focus on their own spiritual growth and prayer.
