NATO in talks to deploy more nukes

NATO is considering deploying more nuclear weapons in response to growing threats from Russia and China, according to the alliance’s head, Jens Stoltenberg.

In an interview, Stoltenberg emphasized the importance of transparency in deterrence, stating that NATO needs to show its nuclear arsenal to the world to send a message to its foes.

He revealed that NATO is currently discussing removing nuclear missiles from storage and placing them on standby, and is consulting with members on the issue, The Telegraph reported in an exclusive interview.

Stoltenberg warned that China is rapidly increasing its nuclear capabilities, aiming to have over 1,000 warheads by 2030, and emphasized that NATO needs to be prepared to counter this threat.

He also expressed confidence that a future Labour government in the UK would be a strong ally of NATO and defended plans to deliver weapons to Ukraine.
