USA faces serious threat of terror attack, expert and former CIA chief warn

In Foreign Affairs, former acting CIA director Michael Morell and foreign policy expert Graham Allison warn that the United States faces a serious threat of a terrorist attack in the coming months.

They note striking similarities to the pre-9/11 period, such as the warnings about Osama bin Laden from then-CIA director George Tenet.

Currently, similar alerts are being issued by FBI director Chris Wray and Army Gen. Erik Kurilla, the commander of CENTCOM.

Despite repeated warnings from national security officials since 9/11, major terrorist attacks have not occurred, and terrorism has become less of a national focus, Axios reported.
