Kamala Harris says abortion bans are creating ‘a health care crisis’

Vice President Kamala Harris criticized state abortion bans in an upcoming interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” airing Monday.

She expressed concern that these laws are restricting essential reproductive care and causing a healthcare crisis by forcing clinics to close.

Harris highlighted the role of reproductive care clinics in providing crucial services like Pap smears, breast cancer screenings, and HIV tests with dignity and without judgment.

She emphasized the broader impact on healthcare access in states implementing restrictive measures, noting the closures of such facilities, NBC News has reported.

The interview, coinciding with the two-year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, also features reproductive rights advocate Hadley Duvall, who emphasized the stakes for women’s health in upcoming elections, urging voters to support candidates who protect abortion rights.

Harris underscored the issue as a matter of fundamental freedom, warning of broader implications if the right to make decisions about one’s body is eroded.
