Russia accused the United States of responsibility for a Ukrainian missile attack on the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula, which killed at least five people, including three children, and injured 124.
The Russian Defence Ministry stated that four of the five U.S.-supplied Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles were intercepted, while the fifth detonated mid-air.
The ministry claimed U.S. specialists set the missiles’ coordinates using spy satellite data, implicating Washington directly.
They asserted that the U.S. and Ukraine’s Kyiv regime were responsible for the strike on civilians in Sevastopol, Reuters has reported.
The U.S. began supplying ATACMS missiles to Ukraine earlier this year. Russian state television showed footage of people fleeing a beach near Sevastopol, where missile fragments fell.
The attack injured 124 people, including 27 children, five of whom are in serious condition.
