Donald Trump raised $331 million in the second quarter, giving him more cash on hand than President Joe Biden and intensifying Democratic concerns about Biden’s campaign.
This amount, raised by Trump and the Republican National Committee, surpasses the $264 million raised by Biden and the Democratic National Committee.
Trump’s campaign now has nearly $285 million in cash compared to Biden’s $240 million, reversing the previous trend where Biden had a larger war chest.
Trump’s top campaign officials highlighted their new cash advantage, criticizing Biden’s spending.
While Trump outpaced Biden in fundraising for April and May, Biden raised more in June with $127 million compared to Trump’s $112 million, Bloomberg has reported.
Trump’s financial edge comes at a time when Biden’s campaign faces scrutiny following a poor debate performance, leading to calls for him to step aside.
Biden has responded angrily to these calls and reassured donors of his ability to beat Trump.
His campaign released their June and quarterly fundraising totals to show strength and ease donor concerns, noting that Biden had his best fundraising month yet while making investments in key battleground states.
