Trump’s VP search comes down to its final days

The future Republican vice presidential candidate’s plane sits in an undisclosed hangar, awaiting the placement of a decal featuring their name.

Fundraisers are scheduled, pending an announcement from former President Donald Trump revealing his choice.

Senior advisers and allies remain uncertain about Trump’s pick, amid ongoing speculation and a presidential race marked by Democratic turmoil following Joe Biden’s debate performance.

Despite opportunities to divert attention with a VP announcement, Trump’s team has kept the selection process tightly under wraps.

According to Trump senior adviser Jason Miller, an announcement could come anytime this week, potentially timed around Trump’s upcoming rallies in Florida and Pennsylvania, the Associated Press has reported.

Potential candidates like Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Sen. JD Vance are rumored contenders, with North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum also mentioned.

Trump has hinted at unveiling his choice just before or during the Republican National Convention, keeping his decision-making process deliberately ambiguous.
