Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is set to speak at an Iowa Republican Party lunch event during the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, as reported by Bloomberg and confirmed by The Hill.

This engagement may suggest he is considering a run for the presidency in 2028.

DeSantis previously challenged Trump for the nomination in 2023 after a successful election year for Florida Republicans but struggled in the polls and ultimately dropped out after finishing second to Trump.

Despite their past rivalry, DeSantis and Trump have since reconciled, with Trump praising DeSantis for his support and discussing future collaboration, The Hill has reported.
