Israel bombs yet another UN-run school in Gaza, killing 17

Israeli forces killed at least 17 people in an attack on a school sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency.

The Sunday attack on the UN-run Abu Oraiban school injured over 80 people and marked the fifth assault on a school-turned-shelter in eight days.

Most of the dead were women and children, said Palestinian Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal.

The Israeli military stated that its air force targeted terrorists operating in the area of the school.

Israel has frequently bombed UN buildings, schools, and refugee camps in designated safe zones, with 90 people killed on Saturday in al-Mawasi, Al-Jazeera has reported.

Over half of UNRWA’s facilities in Gaza have been bombed, some repeatedly. The EU, France, and Germany have called for an investigation into the school strikes.
