All cars in EU to be fitted with speed-limiting AI tech

All cars in the EU must now be equipped with speed-limiting AI technology due to new regulations.

The Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) systems, which became mandatory on July 7, use AI, GPS data, and onboard cameras to monitor and control vehicle speed.

If a driver exceeds the speed limit, the system can automatically slow down the vehicle.

ISAs determine speed limits by analyzing road markings and other factors, with different types of ISA systems available that offer varying levels of intervention.

This law, passed two years ago, is now in full effect across the EU, the U.S. Sun has reported.

ISAs make use of AI, GPS data and even onboard cameras to assess your speed in real time as you drive along. The system will then intervene if you go above the limit it has worked out for the road you are on.
