A 21-year-old Milwaukee man, Donnell Tinsley, is charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon near a Republican National Convention (RNC) security zone.
According to the criminal complaint, Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent and U.S. Capitol Police were patrolling the RNC “exterior zone one” on July 15.
They spotted Tinsley on 11th Street near Highland, wearing black pants, a tan sweatshirt, black gloves, a ski mask, and carrying a large black tactical backpack.
The Special Agent noted the backpack seemed heavy and Tinsley appeared nervous.
Upon questioning, Tinsley denied having a firearm and consented to a search. The agent found a concealed AK-47 pistol in Tinsley’s backpack.
Tinsley admitted he did not have a concealed carry permit and was taken into custody, Fox 6 has reported.
Further search of his backpack revealed a fully loaded magazine, a ‘Scream’ movie mask, a flashlight, two sets of black gloves, sunglasses, an Allied Universal Security uniform shirt, spray paint cans, and empty designer marijuana bags.
