Israeli fighter jets bombed Houthi-affiliated sites in Yemen on Saturday, retaliating for a deadly drone attack in Tel Aviv the previous day, according to multiple U.S. and regional officials.
This marked Israel’s first public strike against the group amid rising tensions.
The airstrikes targeted gas and oil depots and a power station in Yemen’s Red Sea port of Hodeidah, a critical hub for oil exports and humanitarian aid.
The Israeli military did not comment on the strikes, DNYUZ has reported.
The attack came after the Houthis claimed responsibility for a drone strike in Tel Aviv on Friday that killed one Israeli and injured several others.
The Iran-backed Houthis have launched numerous missiles and drones at Israel in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
