nvestigators suspect that the gunman who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump may have used a drone for reconnaissance on the day of the shooting, according to a law enforcement official.

They found a drone in Thomas Crooks’ car, which might have helped him survey the rooftops and plan his attack.

Additional evidence includes a ladder and a backpack, both believed to belong to Crooks, discovered near his home.

These items are now with federal authorities, CNN has reported.

As investigators search for a motive, the US Secret Service faces increased scrutiny and is boosting security ahead of Trump’s upcoming campaign rally with Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance.

Authorities will continue to examine the new evidence for insights into the events leading up to the shooting.
