Pilot, 26, dies as her plane crashes after skydiving flight over Niagara Falls

Melanie Georger, a 26-year-old pilot with dreams of becoming a commercial airline pilot, died when her single-engine Cessna crashed after a skydiving flight near Niagara Falls.

She was the only person onboard as her passengers had already jumped. Her father, Paul Georger, expressed his grief on Facebook, highlighting her passion for flying.

A Facebook post from Eagle East Aviation said Georger had held a private pilot certificate since July 2021, The Guardian has reported.

The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Georger had been flying for a local skydiving company and had held a private pilot certificate since July 2021.
