Russia claims it has destroyed dozens of Ukrainian drones in Crimea

On Tuesday, Russia claimed its forces shot down 21 Ukrainian drones over occupied Crimea and the Black Sea.

The attack reportedly targeted a crucial ferry crossing to the Russian-occupied peninsula, specifically the Port of Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait.

Residents in the northern part of the region reported hearing several explosions. Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed the drones attacked the ferry, but independent verification is pending.

Emergency services are on the scene, and the fire is localized with no risk of spreading, according to Kondratyev’s Telegram post reported by the Kyiv Independent, Euro News has reported.

In other news, three children were injured in an alleged Russian drone attack on a town in Dnipro Oblast, following two days of shelling in Donetsk Oblast, damaging several houses.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is visiting China for the first time since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in 2022.

He plans to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, to discuss Beijing’s potential role in achieving peace and ending Russian aggression. The two last met at the Munich Security Conference earlier this year.
