For the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, advanced anti-drone systems will be employed to ensure security, including the Helma-P laser system from Compagnie industrielle des lasers (CILAS).
The PARADE system, developed by Thales and CS Group, has been refined and is now ready after overcoming initial challenges and passing critical reviews.
Helma-P, a key component, uses directed energy to neutralize small drones quickly, either by dazzling or destroying them.
Successfully tested on the Forbin air defense frigate, the system will be mounted on Sherpa Light vehicles for the Games, capable of detecting and neutralizing drones up to 1,000 meters away, Army Recognition has reported.
The technology, which will provide 20,000 hours of surveillance, is interconnected with SAP software from ONERA and Thales for real-time security management.
Helma-P is noted for its high performance and precision in both operational and urban settings.
