Three people have been arrested, and two others are being sought for the ambush killing of Florida rapper Julio Foolio, legally known as Charles Jones.
The 26-year-old was killed on June 23 when his vehicle was fired upon in a hotel car park in Tampa. Surveillance footage shows the masked attackers using two semi-automatic rifles and one pistol.
The attack occurred during Foolio’s birthday weekend, which he had announced on social media.
Isaiah Chance, 21, Alicia Andrews, 21, and Sean Gathright, 18, were arrested and face murder charges. Davion Murphy, 27, and Rashad Murphy, 30, are still at large.
Three others were injured but survived. Detectives used CCTV, license plate readers, and phone logs to identify the suspects, who allegedly belonged to gangs ATK and Twelve Hundred, the BBC has reported.
Jones was a member of the Six Block Gang. He had nearly a million monthly listeners on Spotify and had posted about recent threats on his life.
