Strikes on a military graduation ceremony in eastern Sudan killed five people, the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) reported on Wednesday.
General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the de facto leader of Sudan and army chief, was present but survived the attack.
The SAF stated that two drone strikes targeted their base in Gebeit after a graduation event for military, air, and navy college students, leaving several others with minor injuries.
Social media footage captured people fleeing amid explosions as soldiers marched in Red Sea State, near Port Sudan, RT has reported.
Sudan has been in turmoil since April 2023, when conflict broke out between SAF commander Burhan and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) chief Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, with the RSF reportedly seizing eight of the country’s 18 state capitals, including Khartoum.
