The United Auto Workers (UAW) union endorsed Kamala Harris for US president, giving her a significant boost in Michigan.

UAW president Shawn Fain praised Harris for her support of the working class and commitment to fighting corporate greed.

The UAW’s 370,000 members previously endorsed Joe Biden for re-election before he withdrew from the race, The Guardian has reported.

Fain has been critical of Donald Trump, stating that his presidency would be disastrous for workers. The endorsement comes as other unions also switch their support to Harris.

The Teamsters, however, have not yet made an endorsement.
