Zachary Babitz, accused of shooting and killing 83-year-old Gordon Wilson during a carjacking in Santa Fe, now faces additional charges for allegedly robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Albuquerque a week earlier.
Albuquerque police linked Babitz to the robbery through surveillance and GPS data from an ankle monitor he was wearing as part of his probation for a previous armed robbery.
The monitor reportedly placed him at the bank during the robbery, but he allegedly removed it before the murder, KOB 4 has reported.
Babitz, who has now been taken into custody, faces multiple charges, including murder, armed robbery, and tampering with evidence.
