An Iowa man, David Carpenter, 48, has been charged with attempted murder and child endangerment after allegedly shooting his father, William Carpenter, in the face during an argument over his “stinky feet.”

The incident occurred at their Burlington home, where two children were present. David reportedly admitted to retrieving a firearm during the argument and accidentally firing it at his father.

William Carpenter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized, the New York Post has reported.

David Carpenter is being held on a $100,000 bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for August 21. The case is under investigation.
